Honeywell Advanced Controls Engineer in Albuquerque, New Mexico
As a Advanced Controls Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for various projects. You will utilize your expertise in controls engineering to ensure the efficient and effective operation of systems and equipment. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer requirements and industry standards.
You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Albuquerque, NM, Broomfield, CO and Golden Valley, MN location.
In this role, you will impact the success of our projects by designing and implementing control strategies, conducting system testing and troubleshooting, and providing technical support to internal and external stakeholders. Your contributions will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of our control systems.

The annual base salary range for this position is $124,000.00 - $155,000.00. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

Key Responsibilities
Development of industrial control solutions that interact with industrial sensors, unique scientific instruments, and other complex electromechanical systems.
Using PLC development environments with IEC 61131-3 programming languages (ST, LD, FB, SFC).
Configuring Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems to communicate with PLCs and other industrial devices.
Building Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) for human machine interface (HMI) to allow operators to monitor and control laboratory and industrial machines.
Drafting electrical schematics, control panel drawings, bills of materials, & specification documents.
Designing and testing of low voltage industrial control panels.
Managing design artifacts with configuration management and collaborating with internal customers.
Troubleshooting process controls, electrical equipment, sensors, valves, motors, & drives.
You Must Have
8+ years related industry experience.
US Citizenship to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
We Value
Master’s Degree & 3-4 yrs industry experience; Bachelor’s Degree & 4-5 yrs industry experience
Proficiency in IEC 61131-3 programming languages; including ladder logic, structured text, function block diagram, and sequential function chart.
Proficiency in design of human machine interfaces for industrial machines.
Proficiency in Solidworks Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical, or equivalent 2D electrical CAD software.
Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting using standard electrical test equipment.
Experience setting up and configuring industrial communications networks; including Ethernet, Modbus, Profibus, and RS-232/485.
Working Knowledge of equipment wiring practices and relevant codes (NEC, NFPA 79, UL 508A, etc.)
Experience using Git for revision control of industrial control schematics and software.
Basic mechanical understanding/aptitude, comfortable using simple hand tools.
