Job Purpose:

This executive leadership position for Progress Rail has overall responsibility for the company’s global information technology functions, services and governance, including infrastructure, support, cybersecurity, compliance, data and applications development. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer of Progress Rail.

This position requires strong business acumen in order to influence the manner in which business decisions are made in the organization; participate in creating organizational strategy and demonstrate how the IT function contributes to organization’s results; explain the organization's business model and competitive position in the marketplace; utilize economic, financial, and organizational data to build business cases for major initiatives; and understand how key decisions impact the organization’s P&L, both in the short and long-term.

A successful candidate will display executive presence with the ability to inspire a strong sense of poise, confidence, and decisiveness among peers, subordinates, and leaders, as well as:

• manage complex, high risk, group dynamics, conflicts and concerns to promote win-win outcomes;

• proactively coach and develop others via a range of leadership styles to ensure effective growth and development;

• leverage effective, established networks to create added value for the organization;

• demonstrate knowledge of evolving the business to remain competitive and generate new ideas, approaches and solutions in response to changing demands or environment;

• anticipate the impact of change in markets, politics and culture on the organization and its customers and suppliers; and

• integrate emerging industry best practices into current working processes.

Travel – Less than 50%. Occasional international travel is required.

Qualifications and Experience:

Ten to fifteen years of progressively responsible, job-related experience.
