Job Overview
NYSERDA seeks a motivated and experienced individual with excellent writing, analytic, and organizational skills to join our team as a Senior Project Manager. Reporting to the Director of the NY-Sun Initiative, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the implementation of New York State’s $250 million federal Solar for All grant from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA-SFA). New York intends to use federal EPA -SFA funding to expand existing programs serving disadvantaged communities, and to implement new programs in partnership with other state and local agencies. The Senior Project Manager for Solar for All will lead the integration of EPA-SFA funding into existing programs and processes; oversee sub-grantees, consultants and contractors; and serve as the primary point of contact for the EPA. The Senior Project Manager for Solar for All will collaborate closely with members of NYSERDA’s NY-Sun (distributed solar) and Energy Storage teams, as well as the authority’s legal, evaluation, contracting, and finance staff.
Primary Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for the successful implementation of New York State’s EPA Solar for All grant.
Oversee the work of sub-grantees (other New York State and New York City agencies participating in the grant), consultants and contractors including writing statements of work, issuing contracts, budgeting, and invoicing.
Workplan and budget development and oversight, including periodic review and amendment based on program performance.
Manage design and adjustment of programs serving disadvantaged communities, based on technical knowledge, market feedback, and EPA-SFA grant requirements.
Close communication with EPA staff, NYSERDA team members, and partner agencies to ensure accountability to contractual commitments, timely and accurate grant reporting, and other deliverables.
Make presentations to internal and external stakeholders, manage feedback and questions, and support stakeholder engagement efforts.
Contribute to the overall strategic direction of the NY-Sun initiative and other NYSERDA programs.
Ability to perform all managerial and supervisory responsibilities with demonstrated experience fostering respect, diversity, equity and inclusion across the workforce.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree and seven years of relevant experience, with a demonstrated record of successfully managing complex projects.
Demonstrated ability to manage workplans, budgets, and timelines, experience with federal grant requirements preferred.
Demonstrated ability to manage consultants and contractors, ensuring accountability for work product quality and the timely completion of deliverables.
Strong professional writing skills, particularly for reports, presentations, options memos, and similar work products.
Familiarity with relevant energy technologies and policies, expertise in these subjects preferred.
Ability to be a self-starter and function well independently and in teams.
Strong communication skills; excellent strategic planning, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong work ethic and resolute integrity.

Proficiency with MS Office Suite required
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree and six years of relevant experience, with a demonstrated record of successfully managing complex projects.
Familiarity with Salesforce preferred
