  • Attract the private sector capital investment needed to expand New York’s clean energy economy.

  • Overcome barriers to using clean energy at a large-scale in New York.

  • Enable New York’s communities and residents to benefit equitably from energy efficiency and renewable energy.

Job Overview The Senior Executive Administrator will provide high-level administrative and operational support to the President and CEO of NYSERDA. This position also works as an integral member of the Office of the President, working closely with the Chief of Staff, Communications team, and NYSERDA’s Officers to advance specific initiatives and priorities. The Senior Executive Administrator also serves as a primary point of contact to the President and CEO for other agencies, stakeholders, and administrative team members at NYSERDA. This role demands exceptional organizational skills, discretion, time commitment and the ability to manage complex schedules, communications, and projects. The Senior Executive Administrator should also be a self-starter who acts independently, directs their own work, and handles diverse tasks quickly and accurately within a high-performance environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in supporting C-level executives, an understanding of the energy sector, and a passion for contributing to impactful government initiatives. Primary Responsibilities

Executive Support

  • Manage and maintain the President and CEO’s daily calendar, including scheduling meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external communications directed to the President and CEO.

  • Assemble briefings, reports, and presentations for meetings, conferences, and public appearances.

  • Draft and proofread correspondence on behalf of the President and CEO, ensuring clarity and adherence to organizational policies.

Meeting and Event Coordination/Preparation

  • Organize and coordinate executive-level meetings, including developing agendas, preparing materials, and recording minutes.

  • Work with the Chief of Staff to ensure the President and CEO is adequately briefed and prepared for meetings, including providing background information and key talking points which may be assembled by others.

  • Work with the Communications and Events department to provide the President and CEO with timely, accurate and organized materials for speaking engagements.

  • Liaise with senior management, stakeholders, and external partners to facilitate communications and ensure follow-up actions.

Project Management

  • Assist in the coordination of strategic initiatives and special projects led by the President and CEO.

  • Track progress of key projects, including deadlines, deliverables, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Oversee NYSERDA’s out of state travel approval process.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the execution of organizational priorities and policy initiatives.

Confidentiality and Discretion

  • Handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Ensure compliance with all organizational policies regarding communication and data security.

Office Management

  • Oversee administrative functions within the executive office, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the office.

  • Coordinate and manage executive travel, accommodations, and expense reports.

  • Supervise other administrative staff and contractors, as needed.

Other

  • Address needs on a timely basis which arise outside of normal working hours, including nights and weekends.

  • Provide a regular in-office presence to coordinate the President and CEO’s meetings, greet visitors, review incoming mail, and phone calls.

  • Perform other responsibilities as required.

  • Ability to perform all managerial and supervisory responsibilities with demonstrated experience fostering respect, diversity, equity and inclusion across the workforce.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of executive administrative experience, 3 years of which should be in providing Executive level support, preferably in a governmental agency or the energy sector.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and project management tools.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.

  • Experience in supporting C-level executives.

  • Proven ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Additional Qualifications

  • Basic Knowledge of energy policy and government operations is preferred.
