Duties Description The Albany Office of New York State Governor Kathy Hochul is seeking a Special Events Manager to support the coordination of the 30-50 special events hosted annually by the governor. The governor’s special events include heritage receptions, ceremonies, community events such as the Easter Egg Roll and Turkey Pardon, large-scale productions such as the State of the State Address, and other engagements with constituents and stakeholders throughout the state. Theseevents are primarily hosted at the Executive Mansion and State Capitol Building, however, may also utilize external venues as the scope requires.The Special Events Manager is a member of the Executive Operations team and reports directly to the Social Secretary. The manager works in conjunction with other departments–primarily in scheduling, advance, briefings, long term planning, correspondence, as well as intergovernmental and constituency affairs–to ensure all engagements are executed with attention to strengthening relationships with stakeholders.Responsibilities include:? Meets project management deadlines including date selection, guest list curation and approval, invitation design and delivery, and speaking program development? Coordinates with the Executive Mansion team and the Office of General Services to secure the facilities and vendors necessary for each event? Secures external venues and third-party vendors when the scope of an event requires that it be hosted outside of the mansion or capitol? Works with the assigned event lead to develop an event flow and speaking program that embraces the office’s established best practices? Ensures the governor’s briefing materials and speech reflect the approved event flow and speaking program? Identifies the needs for staff support at each event and assigns roles appropriately? Oversee the day-of event production with the advance team and other assigned staff, including preparing printed materials, event setup, guest registration, programmanagement, breakdown, and after-action reporting
Minimum Qualifications Must have:- Bachelor's Degree - 2 years of relevant experience
