Senior Healthcare Data Analyst

Summary

This position will be responsible for data release activities for the Center for Health Data Innovation (CHDI). CHDI collects and maintains comprehensive health related data that are made available for healthcare research purposes as enabled by NYS Public Health Law.

The primary responsibility of this position will be to carry out established program protocols for granting access to health-related data upon request. This will include review of applications for approval, tracking approved requests through fulfillment, reviewing existing processes/documentation for improvement, and generating reports. The incumbent will be expected to coordinate and communicate effectively information requested.

The successful candidate will assist with a variety of activities including:

Data Governance

• Monitor the shared CHDI mailbox and answer phone tree calls for timely response to data inquiries.

• Evaluate applications and correspond with applicants about their research proposals to prepare Data Governance Committee (DGC) review and recommendation documents

• Coordinate with team and contractors to document applications and corresponding data releases in appropriate trackers.

Data Release

• Assist internal and external stakeholders in preparation for CHDI data release.

• Assist with the key steps for fulfillment of data releases including invoicing, data extraction, quality assurance, data linkage, and data delivery.

• Evaluate, verify, and track progress of data release requests for over 200 approved and ongoing CHDI data applications.

• Coordinate the transfer of secured health related data extracts to approved recipients within established timelines to comply with CHDI Data Governance metrics.

• Participate in regularly scheduled open Question & Answer forums for applicants and recipients of all payer data.

• Review and evaluate research publications for potential breaches of CHDI Data Governance policy.

• Assist with training of new staff on the application process flow and best practices.

• Participate in other CHDI data related projects as assigned.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

• Ability to work independently with excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.

• Effective time management skills to meet program timelines.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Knowledge of Medicaid, NYS all payer database program, and SPARCS.

• Experience with educational training.

The preferred qualifications include:

• Degree in computer science, public health, or healthcare administration.

• Knowledge of R, SAS, and SQL programming language.

Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, SSO provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role.
