Responsibilities

This highly important role is newly elevated and reporting to the head of finance for broad impact across the organization. With H&F's recent investment, significant growth and effectiveness initiatives are being deployed. This individual will be a key part of the value creation plan.

Objectives:

  • Drive positive impact to $300M in spend (and growing as Baker Tilly grows)
  • Ensure current value targets are captured and continuously develop and excel at stretch targets year after year
  • Be a trusted advisor to the business on all things supply / supplier related
  • Create sustainable savings and risk safeguards
    - Develop capabilities in, serve as a do-er, and lead the team to effectively drive strategic sourcing, including advanced RFPs and demand/specification optimization
    - Develop category and sourcing strategies and advise management and requesting stakeholders in associated approaches and processes
    - Negotiate contracts commercially and legally, with a balanced risk approach
    - Be an expert across categories
    - Develop structured approach to scale processes as corporation grows, including methodology for onboarding new company acquisitions
  • Serve as key communicator and influencer within the corporation
    - Engage, communicate, and collaborate with all relevant stakeholders of all levels, including the executive committee, the broader stakeholder base, your team, suppliers, etc.
    - Leverage analytics and market intelligence to educate the organization in advanced procurement to earn support for the next level of value creation
    - Build strong relationships with business unit leaders and executives to become a partner and trusted advisor, cementing the strategic value of Procurement within the organization
  • Drive continuous maturation of Procurement
    - Develop and execute a strong strategic vision for Procurement
    - Challenge existing rules and status quo to further optimize projects and initiatives
    - Act as a change agent, continuously evolving Procurement capabilities (e.g. spend visibility, category management, contract management, sustainability, supplier diversity) fit to Procurement's maturity journey and company growth
    - Team closely with FP&A to ensure controls and value tracking to the P&L
  • Launch and manage effective procurement operating routines
    - Proactively build and manage a hearty pipeline of procurement initiatives, and manage them through a cadence of pipeline meetings, steerco meetings, and other levels of governance
    - Be responsible for a strong annual savings target and team with FP&A to ensure spending controls; co-develop and deploy reporting, decision trees, and validation process. Participate in the annual budget process.
    - Hire and develop Procurement team members to support procurement objectives and become a destination for top talent within the organization
  • Participate in the H&F Procurement Community including quarterly virtual forums and an in-person summit every 18 months

  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree required, Master's (MBA) preferred
    • 8+ years of relevant working experience in procurement, preferably with at least some in IT (e.g. Software), and 4+ years of that in a leadership/managerial capacity
    • Strong attention to detail and effective prioritization, while keeping the big picture in mind
    • Ability to operate both strategically, tactically and operationally in a fast-paced environment; builds scalable systems & processes, rather than just addressing single issues
    • Significant influence and communication skills
    • Highly capable in project management and analytics
    • Strong business acumen, including financial acumen
    • Strong ability to lead and develop people
    • Adaptable and flexible; comfortable with change and challenging status quo
    • Knowledgeable in procurement technology and processes to enable procurement maturation
    • Demonstrated management capabilities, especially related to leading strategic initiatives, driving performance, leading change efforts, and producing superior results
    Additional Information

    The compensation range for this role is $159,980 to $499,270 . Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
