The Bossardi-Ramos lab (https://www.amc.edu/researcher/ramon-bossardi-ramos-phd/) studies endothelial dysfunction, inflammatory memory, and epigenetics mechanisms and is seeking a talented research technician to join our research laboratory. The candidate will perform a variety of technical duties involved in conducting biochemical, molecular biological, cell culture, and bioinformatics research laboratory tests, experiments, and determinations in support of Albany Medical College research operations. Candidates with a background in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, bioinformatics, and immunology are encouraged to apply.

• Under the guidance of the research associate and/or principal investigator, perform routine procedures and experiments to address research questions.• Assist lab members with experiments and help manage the rodent colony, including compliance with ACUP and IACUC policies.• Perform cell culture and in vitro experiments, including maintaining and handling cell lines, transfections, and treatments.• Performing molecular biology techniques, including RNA/DNA extractions, DNA analysis (genotyping), RT-PCR, qPCR, running gels, and transcription reactions.• Making lab solutions and reagents.• Compile and document experimental results.• Confer with the principal investigator to review work assignments and plans for research experiments and make minor modifications to existing laboratory procedures and techniques to meet the needs of the particular experiment as required.• Review laboratory methods, manuals and/or scientific literature for information that allows one to perform and troubleshoot a research technique or experiment.• Maintain sufficient inventory of appropriate material, supplies, and equipment required for laboratory operations.
