Job Description
Community Maternity Services (CMS), is an agency of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany. CMS is a non-profit agency that has been serving the Capital Region for 50 years. CMS provides family-oriented and community-based programs through individualized social services and community education programs. We offer a continuum of care for adolescents, young parents and their children. The youth we serve are placed in either of our residential programs due to the youth being placed in foster care and requiring a congregate care facility.
CMS is currently hiring a Social Worker to work on our Clinical Prevention Team.
JOB SUMMARY:
Work with families in Albany County with children at risk of foster care placement.
Provide assessment, treatment planning, case management and home-based counseling for 15 families whose children are either at risk of foster care placement or in foster care and planning to return home.
Prevention Social Worker Minimum Salary: $45,000/year
Prevention Social Worker Maximum Salary: $55,000/year
Prevention Social Worker: Full-time
QUALIFICATIONS:
MSW degree
Experience working in the child welfare field with children and families
Knowledge of/ability to compete thorough psychological assessments
Strong oral and written communication skills
Organizational skills
Computer skills
Valid NYS driver’s license
Vehicle in good working order
LMSW/LCSW and Clinical experience working with families preferred
Lift up to 40 lbs.; demonstrate a full range of motion; be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time and be able to walk up and down stairs as necessary.
