Rachel Miller at Robert Half is partnering with a client on a Payroll Clerk. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintaining records, and addressing any payroll-related inquiries. This role is crucial to ensure the smooth operation of the HR department and the overall financial health of the company.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payrolls for all employees

• Enter and verify payroll data, including employee hours, bonuses, commissions, and deductions

• Calculate and prepare federal, state, and local payroll taxes, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations

• Manage payroll-related benefits, including retirement plans, health insurance, and other deductions

• Generate payroll reports for management, finance, and HR departments

• Address and resolve employee inquiries and discrepancies related to payroll

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records and documentation

• Utilize accounting software systems, such as ADP, Ceridian, and IBM AS/400, for payroll processing

• Perform accounting functions related to payroll and check processing

• Handle benefit functions related to payroll.

Requirements • Familiarity with Accounting Software Systems is essential

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is desirable

• Proficiency in using Ceridian software

• Knowledge of IBM AS/400 system

• Familiarity with Kronos Timekeeping System and About Time

• Ability to handle Accounting Functions professionally

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP)

• Understanding of Benefit Functions

• Ability to process checks in a timely and accurate manner
