Minimum Qualifications To be eligible for this position, you must meet one of the following conditions:For NY HELPS appointment: Six years of experience producing multimedia communication projects using elements of audiovisual production, or graphic design for web, or graphic design for print.Substitution: A bachelor's degree in video and/or TV and/or film production, web interface design, graphic design, communications design, or a closely related field may substitute for four years of experience.This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means NO EXAMINATION IS REQUIRED, but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, WITHOUT HAVING TO TAKE A CIVIL SERVICE TEST. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. Duties Description NYS DMV is looking for a dynamic creative services professional who is excited to shatter perceptions of the DMV through compelling print and digital content. This position is part of a small production team that works to elevate the agency’s presence on social media, build awareness of the agency’s key initiatives through multi-media marketing campaigns, and support the agency’s operations through the production of videos, signage, murals, and much more.Responsibilities:• Create engaging static and motion graphics for target audiences that achieve campaign/project objectives• Facilitate projects independently from concept to completion including preparing concept designs and storyboards for clients prior to project execution• Collaborate effectively on large-scale multi-media marketing campaigns• Prepare files for production or printing by outside vendors and/or digital distribution• Ensure all projects are completed within agreed-upon timelines• Occasionally edit/retouch photos using post-production software• Research and propose software and hardware solutions, as needed, to enhance product development• Write training and procedure manuals for multimedia products; maintain electronic filing system for all completed projects• Create quotes and invitations for bids to obtain quotes from outside multimedia vendors.• Some night and weekend travel requiredQualifications:• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite• Strong graphic design skills and ability to create captivating motion graphics/animations• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines• Positivity and willingness to collaborate with clients and team members• Willingness to travel• Experience with digital photography and/or a background in social media management and brand development is ideal.
