Job Title: Mechanical EstimatorLocation: Albany, New YorkPosition Type: Full-timeResponsibilities:•Strong understanding of mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration and process piping.•Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans and specifications to estimate material quantities and labor requirements. •Perform takeoffs from mechanical drawings and specifications.•Prepare detailed estimates for mechanical projects.•Understand project logistics and project schedule. •Compile bid packages and scopes for subcontractors and vendors for review to provide customers with the best and most competitive results.•Maintain customer relations, addressing inquiries and providing exceptional service.•Collaborate with other team members to provide our customers with the most complete and competitive proposals. Qualifications:•At least 5-8 years of experience working in the construction industry, particularly related to mechanical systems installation or project management.•Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings and specifications.•Competency of mechanical systems.•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for creating and managing cost spreadsheets and detailed reports.•Ability to analyze project requirements, identify cost-effective solutions, and detect discrepancies or omissions in plans.•Ability to clearly communicate with clients, project managers, engineers, and vendors.•Familiarity with on-screen mechanical estimating software.Compensation:•Annual Salary Range: 75,000 - 90,000 •Benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, HSA contributions, 401(k), profit sharing and PTO.
