POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Maintenance Worker, you will participate in maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair of buildings, grounds and equipment. You will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and you will work onsite.

Responsibilities:

  • Assigned to overseeing the complete maintenance of one or more buildings.

  • Participate in a preventive maintenance program for all Center equipment.

  • Perform tasks assigned by the facility wizard ticket system related to maintenance ,health and safety, preventative maintenance and project work.

  • Is available for off hours work such as snow removal and other emergencies and is willing to work irregular hours.

  • Assume primary responsibility for the maintenance of a specific Agency building, or for the provision of a specific Department function (e.g. automotive or grounds).

  • Perform repair to plumbing, electric wiring, furniture, doors and windows, hardware and varied mechanical equipment and machinery.

  • Install shelves, new hardware and does experienced painting.

  • Make inspections of property to ascertain safety and repair needs.

  • Order repair parts.

  • Perform specialized tasks related to one or more of the standard building trades, or perform automotive maintenance on Agency vehicles.

  • Perform all maintenance tasks as assigned to keep building, ground, and equipment up to approved standards of maintenance, cleanliness and operation

  • Assist the Director of Buildings and Grounds and Maintenance Supervisor, in planning tasks and making inspections.

  • Make purchases of maintenance department supplies and equipment.

  • Assist the Senior Maintenance Worker in conducting emergency evacuation drills.

  • Pay special attention to areas and equipment necessary to the health and wellbeing of the children and staff; advise the Senior Maintenance Worker of needed care and maintenance.

  • Be willing to be responsive to and service the needs of culturally diverse client populations. Be willing to work cooperatively with volunteers as assigned.

  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

    Requirements and Education:

  • HS diploma preferred.

  • Training certification in skilled trades desired.

  • Must have a valid NYS drivers license.
