Responsibilities
The Health Program Coordinator will work with the Public Health Physician 2 assigned to COVID activities, specifically looking at Long COVID to assist in the coordination of activities related to integrate into the larger ELC activities. This position will be responsible for capturing data to provide a better understanding of the effects of Long COVID and how it impacts health. This includes collecting data from focus groups who have experienced long term complications from COVID. Collecting surveillance data on epidemiology and disability in patients with long COVID will assist in the development of provider-based educational programs to increase the capacity of primary care physicians to care for patients with long COVID in NYS.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to contributing to the development of promotional materials, coordinating educational events for providers, contributing to the creation of a provider database, providing meeting summaries and reporting to CDC on a quarterly basis. This position will be the liaison for long term COVID projects to the Division of Epidemiology and the Office of Public Health.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of experience contributing to the coordination of program activities in a public health, health, health regulatory, or human services related program; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and four years of such experience; OR six years of such experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting
- At least one year experience monitoring and managing projects including use of online shared sites or project management applications
- At least one year experience with implementation of in-person or virtual education programs
Conditions of Employment
Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.
Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire. Telecommuting will be available.
