Job Title: Carpenter

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled carpenter to perform metal stud framing and drywall installation on high-profile commercial projects throughout the capital region. The carpenter will install doors, windows, cabinets, and other fixtures, read and interpret blueprints and construction plans, measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials, and ensure structures are level, square, and securely assembled. This role will require travel to multiple jobsites, so your own transportation is a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Perform metal stud framing and drywall installation

• Install doors, windows, cabinets, and other fixtures

• Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans

• Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials

• Ensure structures are level, square, and securely assembled

• Collaborate with other construction professionals to complete projects on time and within budget

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety and health regulations

Essential Skills

• OSHA 10 certified

• 3+ years of commercial or residential framing experience (metal stud preferred but wood will be considered)

• Reliable transportation to travel to multiple job sites if necessary

Work Environment

Projects include but are not limited to Millbrook Schools, Albany Medical, Hackley School, SUNY Albany, Emma Willard College, SUNY New Paltz, Iona College, and Pace University. Mileage reimbursement for round-trip travel from home to job sites over 80 miles at $0.585 per mile is provided. The work hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The team includes a superintendent on-site along with a project manager, carpenters, and subcontractors. The dress code requires work boots and compliance with PPE regulations, including hard hats, safety glasses, and high-visibility clothing at all times on-site.

This is a Contract position based out of Albany, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $35.00/hr.
