Job Description for Financial Management Specialist
JOB SUMMARY
The Financial Management Specialist position will be responsible for administrative services that will support the Research Foundation for NY CREATES business operations effort. The Financial Management Specialist's primary responsibilities will be to support the efforts of the Finance department and Senior Financial Managers while supporting and collaborating with other operational departments.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Daily processing of the requisitioning of good and services, the approval of invoices for payment, resolving issues with purchase orders, and coordinating with financial managers for approvals of expenditure transactions.
This team member will work with other departments including Sponsored Funds Financial Accounting and Procurement to resolve issues and coordinate timely processing of all transactions.
This position will use Oracle financial software and related business interfaces, including Excel, to create and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and databases to efficiently monitor and track expenditures and purchase orders, and assist with various financial reporting needs.
This position requires familiarity with applicable policies, rules, and regulations to be able to appropriately respond to requests and provide information to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Requirements for Financial Management Specialist
An associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a relevant field.
A minimum of 2 years relevant, professional experience.
A working knowledge of the MS Office suite and experience with other business system interfaces.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills.
This is a fully remote position after a designated probationary period and contingent upon supervisory continuous approval.
This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background check; this position may require annual background checks.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant experience in a high volume, transactional based position.

Salary Range: $55,000- $65,000
*Posted salary rates are determined upon experience and education
