JOB SUMMARY

The Director, MGP Technical Deployments is accountable for the continent pull through and deployment resourcing model at MGP Property Management Systems at 5800+ hotels across the U.S. & Canada. This is a critical leadership role within the Continent IT Organization and will be responsible for establishing an on- and above-property resourcing model that ensures properties are fully supported in deployment efforts of our largest strategic initiative, and will partner with key stakeholders across the Continent, Global Technology, Global Operations and Service Providers as part of an enterprise project team. In addition to being a subject matter expert in property technology support, the director will have matrixed responsibility to the Continent IT support team, provides IT discipline-specific property support to the continent. They will develop and evolve approaches for determining property resourcing needs for pre, conversion, and post-conversion, lead, manage, and track IT deployments for the Continent team and provide cross-discipline IT implementation leadership complementing our Continent and HQ Discipline Partners.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Required Experience and Skills

  • Undergraduate degree in a computer science discipline and/or equivalent experience/certification

  • 8+ years managing market based technology resources, that also includes:

  • Experience managing a matrixed, multi-sourced services-based team

  • 2+ years experience in direct management of both people and budget.

  • 2+ years experience in a position supporting infrastructure such as servers and operating systems, LAN / WAN, etc.

  • Ability to travel occasionally (up to 20%)

Preferred

  • Hotel or retail operational experience

  • Experience with agile frameworks; PMP or Scrum Master certification

  • Familiarity with hotel property technical solutions and configurations and the impact on operations that they have on service delivery.

  • Ability to communicate, both verbal and written, across the enterprise such that issues are clear to all levels of technology comprehension

  • Ability to work under stressful situations and be able to prioritize multiple issues and challenges

  • Experience in developing and delivering presentations, technical and functional documentation

  • Direct or indirect management experience that includes coaching and developing associates with minimal guidance.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Provides input to and executes the strategy for determining property readiness activities and milestones in support of legacy PMS cutover to new MGP PMS. Ensures that the approach is sufficient to deliver properties ready for deployment, and continuously evolves as new information becomes available.

  • Lead discovery focused on a multi-partner strategy to develop a robust resource plan for deployment to 5800+ hotels

  • Builds partnership/synergy between field and above-property stakeholders specific to future state PMS deployment

  • Collaborates and consults with MGP Program Deployment, Global Technology, Global Operations stakeholders on the team support and installation processes to identify areas of improvement.

  • Collaborates closely with Global Technology specific to the deployment of MGP PMS systems across MxM & Franchise portfolios

  • Provides effective oversight, develops implementation approaches, standardized processes, tools and templates guiding the implementation team to successful results and satisfying current and future business needs. Determines the feasibility of introducing new tools and processes to create efficiencies and effective deployments.

  • Leads the establishment of standard measures for monitoring the technology deployment success of HQ & Continent priorities

Business/Functional Results

  • Partners closely with U.S. & Canada IT Operational Deployment Lead to ensure development of a robust, turnkey model for PMS activation across MxM & Franchise hotels

  • Provides IT consultation and input to Global Technology in creating and planning for the implementation of technology in the field.

  • Actively participates in the development of a rigorous playbook documenting the technical property tasks required to deploy future state PMS

  • Creates success metrics on deployment services to measure team efficiencies/effectiveness and ensure achievement of budgeted goals.

  • Drives accountability by assessing potential IT systems & services capability/awareness (inclusive of franchise offerings); identifying gaps and building recommendations based on findings.

  • Partners with the business to identify creative approaches to technology deployment approaches and methodologies focused on speed to market and reduced costs.

Driving for Results

  • Provides technical and business expertise by identifying solutions to drive performance and reduce IT costs.

  • Collaborates with property and regional IT leadership to ensure recommended deployment approaches and product solutions will meet the business needs and hotel readiness is achievable.

  • Partners with PSS Senior Leaders to drive overall department business goals and objectives.

  • Leads design, delivery and sustainment of large-scale technical deployment projects by applying business knowledge and balancing the priorities of relevant stakeholders, including: IT deployment plans, timelines, communications, supporting materials, escalation, etc.

  • Engages leadership to work through technology change management challenges and communication needs for successful deployment and sustainability.

  • Delivers US & Canada MGP deployment through project management lifecycle while gaining alignment among functional stakeholders, senior management, owner/franchise community. Negotiate and influence technology deployment direction to achieve desired results.

  • Evaluates business needs and supports sourcing strategies to include internal talent and external solutions (i.e. contractors) to successfully address project requirements.

  • Partners with Continent IT Lead, Corporate IT teams and Program Deployment teams to identify & champion continent & hotel IT needs. Ensures compliance with standards during planning and deployment phases of initiative implementations.

  • Leads resolution challenges on business requests that have broader IT department impact and/or moderate risk. Presents alternative solutions and impact assessment by leveraging the broader IT organization.

  • Identifies trends, gaps or patterns in business processes and leads efforts to improve product quality, service delivery, and financial performance.

  • Accountable for the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of operational processes, procedures, and tools.

  • Manages a high performing team of 8-10 technical deployment resources that flexes with work load in support of MGP program requirements. Identifies training opportunities and development plans to attain highest level of expertise. Sets priorities and communicates needs with Senior Director for MGP Technical Deployment, and MGP IT Corporate Deployment team, as needed.

California Applicants Only : The salary range for this position is $110,550.00 to $245,238.00 annually.

Colorado Applicants Only : The salary range for this position is $110,550.00 to $222,943.00 annually.

Hawaii Applicants Only : The salary range for this position is $133,766.00 to $245,238.00 annually.

New York Applicants Only : The salary range for this position is $110,550.00 to $245,238.00 annually.

Washington Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $110,550.00 to $245,238.00 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus and restricted stock units/stock grants. Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
