Trinity Health Boiler Operator - St. Peter's Hospital - Full Time - Mixed Shift in Albany, New York

Description:

A boiler Operator is in charge of shift operation of the Boiler House to maintain continuous steam supply to the Hospital for heat, hot water, sterilization and related uses. Boiler House procedures and related boiler codes provided in the Boiler House Procedure Manual must be adhered to at all times.

Responsibilities:

  • Starts and stops boilers and adjusts controls to maintain required steam supply.

  • Monitors boiler firing rate, flame conditions, water level, flue temperature and fuel supply.

  • Follows Boiler House Procedure Manual in checking safety devices and relays on each boiler.

  • Checks feed water pumps and supply system each shift

  • Checks Natural Gas system regulators, automatic valves and vents for leaks and proper operation each shift

  • Checks air compressor, dryer, filters and blow downs each shift

    • Checks flue gas system for proper operation including automatic dampers, damper controllers, and heat recovery equipment for leaks and general condition
**What you will need:**

  • 3 years high pressure steam boiler operation and repair preferred with emphasis on high pressure pumps and electro-pneumatic controls.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid Driver's License

Pay Range: $19.20 - 26.63

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.”
