The Graduate School seeks to hire an Assistant Director of Academic Affairs. This position will be responsible for student records maintenance, data integrity compliance, assist with degree clearance, for the Graduate School.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for research and process requests for transfer credit/advanced standing and doctoral leave of absence (includes documentation, communication, data integrity review).
Assist with the review of submitted doctoral dissertations and master's theses, maintain corresponding databases and process all submitted works and accompanying forms.
Assist with the graduate degree conferral process.
Responsible for processing degree audit exception forms received.
Responsible for the review and approval of graduate student milestone submissions.
Prepare, maintain and coordinate critical graduate student databases and correspondence pertaining to the production of University Commencement ceremonies.
Responsible for the Graduate School Year-In-Review publication.
Manage the Graduate School Brightspace "Dissertation and Thesis" course.
Responsible for the academic affairs email inboxes, utilizing the available CRM system.
Responsible for the First Destination Survey for the Graduate School (including distribution, communication, data analysis).
Manage the Graduate School online forms and maintenance.
Reports to the Associate Director of Academic Affairs; indirectly reports to the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs and the Graduate Dean.
Works closely with the staff within the Graduate School, the Registrar's Office, and the academic departments.
Job Requirements:
To be successful in this position, applicants should have excellent attention to detail and communication skills. Familiarity with reviewing and analyzing data is key in this position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education (DOE) or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
One to three years of experience in higher education or a related field
Experience working with confidential materials, such as transcripts.
Experience with university systems, structures, credentials, or student services.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and proven ability to learn and use new technology, including university systems.
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, presentation, oral, and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree
Three to five years of experience in higher education
Experience with student information systems, such as PeopleSoft, DARS, Degree Works, and Business Intelligence, or related software.
Additional Information:
Professional Rank and Salary Grade: Senior Staff Assistant, SL-3, $56,000-$60,000
