The School of Social Welfare (SSW) seeks to hire an Administrative Manager. The main objective of this role is to provide administrative and fiscal support and services to SSW under the direction of the Senior Vice Dean/Director of the School of Social Welfare.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Administrative Manager for the School of Social Welfare will provide school-wide coordination pertaining to fiscal, personnel and facilities management. The incumbent will routinely interact with the Budget, Accounting, Purchasing and Human Resources offices, as well as various SSW and CIHS faculty and staff.

  • Monitor and analyze all fiscal account activity including State, UAlbany Foundation, and Research Foundation accounts.

  • Consult with and advise the Senior Vice Dean/Director regarding budget planning and implementation.

  • Develop, implement and monitor all budget and expenditure requests and review the reconciliation of expenses for accuracy.

  • Assist faculty with preparing budgets for grant proposals and provide administrative support in monitoring their awards.

  • Coordinate and monitor SSW MOUs and revenue contracts.

  • Provide oversight for SSW's human resource/personnel matters.

  • Manage SSW space on the Downtown Campus and serve as point of contact for Facilities Management.

  • Participate in SSW's financial, personnel and resource planning activities.

    Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization

  • Minimum two years of professional experience in an office setting

  • Evidence of attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Evidence of strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize, and complete assignments accurately and in a timely fashion

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and proven ability to learn and use new technology, including university systems, such as Slate, EAB, PeopleSoft and Business Intelligence

  • Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community

  • Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging relative to their role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with faculty/staff in a higher education setting

  • Experience with budgeting, accounting, purchasing and HR policies and guidelines

  • Familiarity with University systems, such as PeopleSoft, Business Intelligence, Slate, EAB, etc.

Professional Rank and Salary Grade: Senior Staff Assistant, SL-3, $58,000-$60,000
