Description

We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our team in Albany, New York. The role will involve various tasks related to accounting in the construction industry. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity with possibility to move to permanent .

Responsibilities:

• Process and manage accounts receivable, billing, and collections activities.

• Maintain detailed records and notes to track aging reports.

• Follow up on accounts with overdue payments and communicate any issues to the team.

• Handle contract-based transactions, processing payments at different stages of completion.

• Understand and utilize AIA documents and Sage Timberline software for accounting tasks.

• Execute quick invoicing and manage change orders.

• Collaborate with project management and crew teams to resolve any financial issues.

• Ensure all customer credit records are up-to-date and accurate.

• Apply your skills in construction accounting, AIA billing, and commercial collections.

• Use your knowledge of accounts payable to maintain financial balance and accuracy.

Requirements

• Knowledgeable in Construction Accounting and Construction Industry

• Experience in Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Collections and Commercial Collections

• Experience in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
