[Albany Technical College seeks a well-qualified, highly motivated individual to fill the position of Career Services Coordinator. Under general supervision of the Vice President of Adult Education, the Career Services Coordinator will lead the development and implementation of the local Transition Program Plan for the service delivery area. He/she will assess and advise students on academic and career opportunities and identify the educational and career options appropriate for each student. The Career Services Coordinator will serve as a liaison between the adult education programs, postsecondary education, Workforce Investment Boards, and community service agencies to provide integrated education and training services. The Career Services Coordinator will [provide career navigation and transition support services that focus on the recruitment, retention, and referral of adult education students so that they and the adult education program will achieve results. In collaboration with the instructional staff, he/she will track students progress for academ[ic career and personal growth, present academic information to orientation groups and potential students, parents, core partners and the public. The successful candidate must have a knowledge of adult learning theory, and a knowledge of college entrance requirements and cultures, skills in interviewing, advising, public relations/marketing and/or community outreach. The successful candidate must have the ability to travel within the service delivery area; work a flexible schedule, including evenings and/or weekends.

*[Minimum Qualifications: [The candidate MUST possess a Bachelors Degree in Education, Psychology or a field of study related to the area of assignment *AND have one (1) year of academic advising experience. *[Preferred Qualifications: [The candidate MUST have a Masters Degree *AND a National Certified School Counselor (NCDC) credential OR State of Georgia Professional Counselor License with a minimum of one (1) year as a School Guidance Counselor. *[Physical Demands: [Work is typically performed in an office/classroom environment with intermittent sitting or walking in various settings. Must frequently lift and carry lightweight objects occasionally. Hand and finger motion may be required for data entry purposes. *[Salary/Benefits: [Salary is commensurate with education and work experience.
