Internship in Component Engineer (12 months)

Alajuela, Costa Rica

In this role, you will provide engineering support services on a multidisciplinary engineering team developing and sustaining medical imaging equipment.

You will be expected to review, compare and make engineering changes and lifecycle changes to a range of electromechanical components used in Hologic products. Strong attention to detail, clear communication, the ability to collaborate with others, and being a self-starter are a must. ­

Throughout the 12 months, you'll have the opportunity to participate in the following:

• Mechanical and Electrical component comparison

• Mechanical and Electrical component database management

• Component change orders and lifecycle change management

• Material regulation assessment (REACH, RoHS)

• Part database improvement and management

• Other tasks as assigned to assist the engineering team

We're looking for bright, inquisitive problem solvers who strive to make a difference. Key qualifications include the following:

• Able to work up to full-time (40 hours per week) from January 2025 – December 2025

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program and have at least one semester remaining to complete after the Internship.

• Majoring in a Technical Field, such as Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Analysis preferred, and others considered

• Rising Junior, Rising Senior

• Preferred Cumulative GPA of 3.2/4.0

• Fluent in English at the B2/C1 level

• A motivated and self-directed student with strong attention to detail

• Knowledge and familiarity of component specifications and/or datasheets

• Communicate and collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary team members

• Ability to work onsite at our El Coyol, Alajuela Costa Rica campus. Student housing, relocation, and housing stipends are not provided
