Irrigation Design Engineer

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Irrigation Design Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to designing innovative irrigation systems that enhance landscape sustainability and efficiency.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Responsible for producing the irrigation designs for landscape projects. The underlying focus of the Irrigation Engineer (IE) should be providing the utmost satisfaction to the client via ensuring projects are functional, aesthetically pleasing, code compliant, completed within the allocated period and within the budget that has been assigned.

• The Irrigation Engineer is expected to operate under a certain degree of autonomy utilizing the resources allocated to them to provide top quality service to the client. The (IE) is reporting to the Senior Irrigation Engineer and to the Landscape Design Manager.

• The (IE) will; work closely with design groups and external landscape consultants to support project teams in creating sustainable landscape designs; promote good landscape Irrigation design throughout the practice; research and advise on methods of irrigation on projects; research into project specific landscape irrigation design issues; contribute, or otherwise assist, as required thorough knowledge of and compliance with both the company’s procedures and local irrigation standards and requirements.

• Able to demonstrate ability to undertake the above responsibilities independently.

• Independently performs a wide variety of conventional and complex assignments by applying landscape irrigation design standards, practices, and techniques which requires a fundamental knowledge of landscape, planting and primarily irrigation design.

• The incumbent at this level is required to regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment in developing original designs and is proficient in the utilization of standard landscape irrigation techniques.

• Performs a variety of assignments such as conducting landscape irrigation studies, developing design concepts and design criteria, and preparing related reports. Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information.

• Provides technical guidance to CADD Designer/Drafters working on the same project.

• Prepares technical packages from concept design, through detailed design to tender and contract documentation.

• Provides support and production assistance to team members.

• Completes other duties as assigned.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Irrigation Engineer or similar required. Other related experience not accepted.

• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in landscape irrigation for public realm, roadways, public parks, planning and infrastructure projects.

• Preferably with the design work experience in Qatar, UAE, KSA or Middle East.

• Proficient in utilizing AutoCAD / Civil 3D.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

• Shall be a self-motivated individual who is able to take responsibility and demonstrates initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks and design skills.

• Ability to write technical documents and correspondence.

• Good spoken and written English language is a must.

• Develops design solutions and prepares high quality presentation drawings with the assistance of other team members.
