We are looking for a future caregiver to take on the role of a Surgical Technologist within our world-class team of caregivers. Under the direct supervision of the Surgical Team Manager, the Surgical Technologist is responsible to assist surgeons in the scrub capacity and assist with circulating responsibilities as directed by a registered nurse.

This position has hours from 7a-3:30p with varied start

Whether patients require a minimally invasive procedure or a major surgery, our surgical teams are dedicated to providing patients with excellent care. A caregiver in this position works 7a-7:30p x 2/7a-3:30p x 2 (with varying start times) and has on-call requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Assist surgeons in the scrub capacity.

  • Scrub, gown and glove caregivers.

  • Set up tables with instruments and supplies.

  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon, including instruments, sutures, sponges and supplies.

  • Assist in preparing and draping patients and operative areas.

  • Understand and maintain aseptic technique.

  • Count instruments, sponges and needles with a circulating RN and report correctness and discrepancies.

  • Assist in applying dressings and casts.

  • Assemble all instruments and equipment for decontamination.

  • Assist with maintaining equipment, routine terminal cleaning, housekeeping duties, room inventory and stocking supplies.

  • Assist the surgical team as a circulator under the direction of an RN.

  • Assist in transporting patients and preoperative preparation.

  • Assume call responsibility.

  • Transitional team duties: remove trash from OR, wash out trash cans, wash tables and furniture, move tables and furniture, wipe all flat surfaces, spot clean walls, clean floors and clean and stock anesthesia equipment. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program accredited through CCAAHEP or ABHES OR certification as a Surgical Technologist (TS-C or CST) OR completion of a military surgical technology program OR state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
