Huntington National Bank CSC Senior Project Manager in Akron, Ohio

Summary: The Senior Project Manager will play a critical role in driving high-level strategic initiatives within the Customer Solutions Center (CSC). This position requires a seasoned project management professional who can collaborate effectively with the PMO, Program Manager, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful results. The Senior Project Manager will focus on internal continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, expense reduction, and the implementation of project management methods and principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Initiative Leadership: Lead and manage high-priority strategic initiatives that align with the bank’s goals and objectives, ensuring successful delivery within scope, time, and budget. Collaborate closely with the PMO Manager to align project objectives with organizational strategies and priorities. Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless execution of initiatives across the CSC.

  • Continuous Improvement (CI) and Expense Management: Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and operational efficiency within the CSC. Develop and implement CI initiatives that enhance productivity, reduce expenses, and improve customers satisfaction. Monitor and report on the progress of CI projects, ensuring measurable outcomes and sustainable results.

  • Project Management and Methodology Training: Assist in the development and implementation of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices across the CSC. Provide coaching and training to project manager and team members on project management principles, techniques, and tools. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the project management team.

  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Build and maintain strong relationship with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables. Facilitates regular communication and updates on project status risks, and achievements to stakeholders at all levels. Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making.

  • Project Governance and Risk Management: Establish and maintain robust project governance frame works to ensure consistency and compliance with organizational standards. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive management of potential issues. Ensure adherence to project management best practices and methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with marketing, customer service, and compliance teams to ensure a cohesive and consistent customer experience across all channels. Share customer feedback and trends with internal stakeholders to drive improvements in products and services.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Project Management, or a related field; PMP Certification is highly desirable.

  • High School diploma with 9 years of project management experience/education or related field may be considered.

  • Proven experience in project management, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects in the banking or financial services sector.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.

  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex challenges and drive solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMI Certification

  • Knowledge of creating and tracking project schedules in Microsoft Project.

  • Experience with project management processes and standards

  • High degree of professional confidence and credibility with the presence and communication skills to represent IT-related concepts effectively.

  • Adaptability; self-starter; team player; quality minded; focused; committed; able to work independently.

Compensation Range:

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.  Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.  In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
