Riverwood HeatlhCare Center Cardiac Rehab Therapist in Aitkin, Minnesota

About the Position: A Cardiac Rehabilitation Therapist is a clinically competent interdisciplinary team member who is responsible for evaluating, assessing, and providing appropriate therapeutic intervention for outpatient and maintenance cardiac rehabilitation patients. These include patients with coronary artery disease, cardiac transplantation, heart valve surgery, diabetes, heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and coronary artery disease risk factors. The therapist also facilitates day-to-day operations of the Cardiac Rehab exercise education and risk factor modification programs and provides support to patients and families involved. The Cardiac Rehabilitation Therapist collaborates closely with providers, diabetes education coordinators, RNs, pharmacists, RTs, and dietitians. This includes a population of adults and geriatric patients. What we are looking for: Bachelor's degree or higher (Master s preferred) in Exercise Science or 4 year RN degree with Cardiac Rehab experience or BA/BS OR higher (Master's or Doctorate preferred) with Cardiac Rehab experience from Accredited Occupational Therapy Program, and Certification from the National Board of Occupational Therapy. Certification, experience, and training equivalent to those specified by the American Society of Exercise Physiologists or American College of Sports Medicine Exercise Specialist. Basic knowledge of 12-lead electrocardiogram and rhythm abnormalities required. Experience in exercise program planning, supervision, and counseling with cardiovascular rehabilitation patients. Must be CPR certified by American Heart Association certified within (1) month of hire. ACLS, PALS, NALS certified within one (1) year of hire. Licensure by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice must be current and active if applicable to the degree. Certified by AACVPR preferred.
