Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond?What You Will DoPratt & Whitney Puerto Rico is seeking a highly motivated Aero Thermal Fluids Engineering II. Some responsibilities include designs, develops, and tests power plants, aircraft, and parts, formulates conceptual design of certain products, develops advanced models, and performs system level analyses and prepares technical reports.Under minimal direction, designs, develops, and tests a variety of power plants, aircraft, systems, and/or parts.Performs system / component level analyses of test results and uses the results to prepare technical reports of findings and recommendations.Execute low to medium complexity thermal analysis via 2D and 3D finite element analysis (FEA) and/or low to medium complexity CFD analysis, using the latest P&W Engineering Standard Work, analytical tools, and engineering judgement.With minimal direction, creates and implements common procedures and standard work across the organization and communicate technical results to internal and external customers.Able to manage small projects or processes, coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals and influences others regarding policies, practices, and procedures.Attend and have participation in group meetings, teleconferences and/or training and support project management activities.Actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement using CORE tools and support AS9100 efforts. Become a CORE Apprentice.English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.Based on business needs, the incumbent may be required to support other duties/functions within the company and have availability to travel up to 10% domestically.Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.Qualifications You Must HaveBachelors degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering and 2 years of engineering experience or an Advanced Degree in Engineering with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.Qualifications We PreferExperience with CAD and ANSYS to perform Finite Element Analysis for Thermal Analysis, engine datamatching, component lifing.Experience with FLUENT, or similar tool, for CFD analysis and Ensight for post-processing.Experience with Microsoft Office applications.Experience mentoring and coaching entry-level engineers.Experience with programming tools (PYTHON, Microsoft Office Macros, ANSYS Macros, MATLAB).What We Offer:Employee Scholar ProgramLearn More & Apply Now!ATF is responsible for the aerodynamic and thermal design, analysis and performance evaluation of all engine modules and systems, including fans, compressors, combustors, turbines, augmentors, inlets and nozzles.
