Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Teacher Aide in AGENCY VILLAGE, South Dakota
Work Monday - Thursday, 7:30am to 5pm Friday 8am to Noon Work 1480 hours per year. Late August to early May Teacher aide is responsible for assisting the teacher in providing a safe and health environment and developmentally appropriate learning opportunities for young children entrusted to them. Assist teacher with having a safe / sanitary environment for the children Assure that children are dressed appropriately for the weather and type of play. Mode and encourage good health and safety habits. Supervise children at all times Ride the bus in the morning and afternoon as a bus monitor Assist the teacher with safe environment, planning appropriate activity plans and weekly activities. Communicate with children, parents and staff Assist children learning, communications and self worth and esteem
Must have a H.S. Dipolma or GED. Will work towards a CDA Preschool endorsement Enjoy working with preschool children Must communicate effectively with children, parents and staff Be in good health and physically capable of working with preschool children Be willing to lean, speak and promote Dakotah language and culture Attend staff meetings Submit to background check at state and federal levels. No convictions of child abuse / neglect. Must complete CPR and 1st Aide training Live and promote alcohol and drug free lifestyle Must have a physical and TB test. Submit to drug testing
