General Atomics Manufacturing Technician in Adelanto, California

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

Assists with modification, fabrication, assembly, operations, installation, repair and maintenance of machined parts, assists in machine chip removal, help maintain safety data for the shop. Help with calibration of machine shop inspection tools.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under general supervision with detailed instructions and intermittent review: Processes outgoing machined parts: Cleans and deburrs, Bags and Tags, packages for transport, delicate machined parts. Ensures paperwork is properly filled out.

  • Assembles and installs Hardware, such as Heli coils, key locking inserts, nuts, bolts, screws and various expansion type fasteners.

  • Installs a multitude of different types of bearings, including flush mount and swage bearings

  • Operates power tools: such as power drills, handheld circular saws, fixed position, floor mounted band saws, horizontal and vertical.

  • Uses Hand Tools: torque wrenches, air wrenches, air deburring tools etc.

  • Cleans, adjusts and replaces parts on assemblies as needed equipment.

  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

  • Help maintain work area in an orderly condition by returning tools, equipment and materials to storage areas.

  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires high school diploma or equivalent with one or more years of experience. Must be able to work with common hand tools.

  • Must be able to perform a variety of routine tasks and demonstrate a good working knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures.

  • Knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the field required.
