As Conference & Events Executive, you’ll make sure all our client meetings and events run smoothly - acting as both brand ambassador and trusted partner – you’ll connect internal teams to deliver a seamless experience for planners, hosts and meeting attendees.

This position will manage new and existing conference and events opportunities in order to generate revenue and maximise performance in line with the hotel’s sales, marketing and revenue plan. You will be the key contact for all meeting clients to coordinate onsite conference and events business from enquiry stage right through to post event follow up.

Your day-to-day:

  • Assist in organizing internal and external hotel events, considering client objectives, budgets, available resources, and maintaining hotel profitability.

  • Support the operations team with event setup, monitoring, and refreshes, ensuring a seamless experience.

  • Respond to new short lead event inquiries within 24 hours and maximize the use of Salesforce for client interactions.

  • Administer and process Conference & Event details, chair weekly BEO meetings, and ensure all contracts meet IHG CSA requirements.

  • Adhere to deposit and billing procedures, maintain competitor knowledge, and manage purchase orders. Additionally, assist with sporting team bookings, execute event menus, and maintain client relationships.

  • Act as an InterContinental brand ambassador, ensuring successful and memorable client experiences while promoting a positive work culture and participating in workplace health and safety initiatives.

What we need from you:

  • Previous experience as an event planner, in a hotel environment desired

  • Communication skills – guests and clients will need to come to you with concerns as well as compliments, so you’ll be easy to talk to

  • Strong interpersonal skills both written and verbal.

  • Organisational skills - manage multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines and accuracy in all work.

  • Collaboration – build and maintain internal and external relationships

  • Your problem-solving skills will turn issues into opportunities so every client leaves with great memories

  • Attention to Detail – an eye for the small things that make a big difference

  • Experience using Opera, Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and Infrasys an advantage

  • Experience using Salesforce is desirable, but not essential
