Brockton Hospital Nurse Practitioner- Addiction Experience in Abington, Massachusetts
The Signature Healthcare Office Based Addiction Treatment (OBAT) Program is looking for an innovative, dynamic Nurse Practitioner to join our program that provides opioid use disorder treatment. We are outcomes driven and have a strong focus on the holistic well-being of the patient. We have been watching the opioid epidemic grow in Massachusetts and around the nation, and we are motivated to provide patient centered services that will make a difference. We are looking for someone who has enthusiasm, creativity and flexibility to join us.
Responsibilities
Ensure that appropriate laboratory studies have been performed and reviewed, as needed
Ensure that a medical evaluation, including a medical history, has been performed at admission
Completes physical examinations, procedures, lab specimens and records results. Presents medical forms for the program physician’s evaluation, consultation and signature.
Ensure that evidence of current physiologic dependence, length of history of addiction, or exceptions to criteria for admission are documented in the patient’s record before the patient receives the initial prescription for Medication for Opioid Use Disorder.
Work with clinical and other providers, such as Medical Director, Nurse Care Manager, Peer Recovery Coach and Program Director and coordinates care with the team
Participate in HCS committee meetings on monthly basis
Assists patients in referral services for other medical issues (co-occurring illnesses) and other medical needs
Continuous quality improvement (conduct in-service and patient education)
Ensures our treatment complies with State Regulations, HIPAA and 42 CRF Part 2 Standards
Qualifications and Requirements
Graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner program
Master’s Degree required
Must have current valid Massachusetts licensure, Massachusetts CSR and Federal DEA
Waivered to prescribe buprenorphine (Suboxone)
10 year experience as an NP in a treatment setting that prescribes medication for opioid use disorder preferred
