Southland Industries Scheduler in Abilene, Texas

What you’ll do:

  1. Analyze bid day schedules to gauge feasibility and potential impacts and possibly the preparation of a presentation schedule for interview.

  2. Build a CPM logic schedule with input from Project Management & Supervision:

  3. Will use the GC (contract schedule) to establish baseline schedule

  4. Ensure that the Brandt activity logic ties to the GC schedule

  5. PM/Supt to provide manhour breakdowns by task code

  6. Scheduler to create activities, sequencing, and consolidate manhour data to establish resource loading

  7. Provide manhour breakdowns by task code

  9. With input from the PM/Supt, provide periodic status updates (weekly/monthly/etc.)

  10. Updates to include new percent completes

  11. Note any logic changes (provide narrative)

  12. Identify areas of impact

  13. Identify areas of opportunity

  14. Provide “look-ahead” schedules

  15. Provide updated manpower projections

  16. Provide “Planned vs. Earned” reports

  17. Analyze GC’s schedule updates

  18. Ensure that it is still aligned with Brandt’s schedule

  19. Provide narrative to present to customer

  20. Assist PM with impact studies as required

  21. Make periodic jobsite visits if requested by PM/Supt

  22. Perform additional assignments as requested/needed.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Outstanding organizational skills

  • Excellent MS Office skills and ability/desire to learn new software system

  • Must obtain OSHA-30 certification within six (6) months from date of hire

  • Must be courteous, professional, diplomatic, and highly motivated

  • Employment is contingent upon satisfying all jobsite-specific access requirements, with no outstanding restrictions from any jobsite or from working with any of Brandt’s partnering General Contractors, Owners, Customers, etc

  • Outstanding organizational skills

  • Must be courteous, professional, diplomatic, and highly motivated

What you bring to the table:

  • 4-yr mechanical engineering or construction science degree (or commensurate levels of technical training and related construction experience)

  • 0-2 years of construction and/or general business experience
