Mechatronics Researcher
- Location:Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland
- Security Clearance:Active Clearance or Eligible to Obtain - U.S. citizenship required
- Salary:$85,000 - $100,000 Depending on Experience and Education
- Travel:5%

Position Summary
SURVICE Engineeringis currently seeking a
Mechatronics Researcherto support our Aberdeen Research Operation. You will accelerate your career and become an integral team member within the defense community.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Design adaptive armor components that will be used to counter multiple ballistic threats.
- Create 3-D drawing packages using CAD software such as Solidworks.
- Design, evaluate, and improve mechanical designs using software such as MATLAB, LabVIEW, and ANSYS.
- Design, fabricate, and verify custom designed electrical subsystems using KiCAD or equivalent software
- Program and implement mechatronic control circuitry using embedded platforms such as the Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or NVIDIA Jetson
- Participate in experiments to collect data and evaluate performance of mechatronic components as applied to adaptive armor.
- Prepare presentations and written documents summarizing efforts.
Minimum Qualifications of Mechatronics Researcher
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering and 1+ years of relevant experience. Exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered. Candidates are not required to possess all qualifications; if you possess some of the desired qualifications, please apply.
- At least one (1) year of practical experience to include working in a government laboratory, industrial laboratory, or equivalent.
- Experience designing mechatronics components.
- Experience exercising CAD software such as SolidWorks.
- Experience or familiarity with MATLAB, C++, Python.
- Experience or familiarity with electronic circuit design and affiliate software like KiCAD and PSpice.
- Experience in the fabrication of components and structures to include machining, welding, and 3D printing.
- Ability to obtain a SECRET Security Clearance.
