United States Army Futures Command Facility Operations Specialist in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland

There may or may not be actual vacancies filled from this flyer. Responsibilities Responsible for operating, maintaining, monitoring buildings, grounds, laboratories and various types of facilities. Coordinates renovations, repurposing, and/or recapitalization of laboratories, and other facilities necessary to meet the current and emerging needs of the C5ISR mission. This work requires administrative knowledge, skills and broad technical knowledge of the operating capabilities and maintenance requirements of various kinds of facilities, physical plants, and equipment. Responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and directing work performed by a variety of trades, contractors, and labor employees. Plans and organizes work, interprets regulations, applies new methods, or procedures, coordinates with others as necessary. Performs assignments in the administrative aspect of substantive mission-oriented programs of unusual difficulty and responsibility. Assignments may involve developing policies and plans affecting the directorate/center. Coordinates operations performed by onsite government and contract services to support the unique requirements of the mission's Research and Development as well as coordinating activities with outside organizations. Develop plans for directorate real property maintenance and repair requirements, to include design and construction, by developing preliminary design specifications, compiling financial data and assisting in the preparation of budget inputs. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade or band is required. It is defined as one year of specialized experience equivalent to the DE-02 pay band (GS-11 equivalent or higher) in the Federal Service which includes one or more of the following areas: Overseeing and implementing a program involving the identification and resolution of difficult facility issues or problems Preparing budgets based on plans for maintenance, repair work, new construction alteration projects, replacement of existing equipment, or increase in services and processes to ensure program effectiveness. Performing maintenance or construction work for a facility, such as an office building, hospital, military installation, etc. Assisting with the budget for facility work, such as estimating material and labor costs for a variety of construction or maintenance projects; and inputting and/or tracking work order requests in an automated system. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. This is a Science and Technology Laboratory Personnel Demonstration Project position. The DE-03 pay band incorporates the GS-12 step 01 through GS-13 step 10.
