The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a cleared Junior Cyber Security Engineer who plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's information security initiatives. This role primarily involves assisting senior security professionals in safeguarding the organization's digital assets, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and proactively identifying and mitigating cybersecurity threats. This is located at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD.

This position offers a valuable opportunity for a dedicated and aspiring cybersecurity professional to gain hands-on experience while contributing to the organization's security posture.

Responsibilities:

  • Security Monitoring and Incident Response: Monitor security alerts, conduct initial investigations, and assist in incident response activities to ensure the timely resolution of security incidents.

  • Vulnerability Management: Assist in vulnerability assessments, patch management, and remediation efforts to address security weaknesses in the organization's infrastructure.

  • Security Policy and Compliance: Assist in maintaining and updating security policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements, especially within the framework of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DOD.

  • Security Awareness: Contribute to security awareness and training programs for employees, promoting a culture of cybersecurity best practices.

  • Security Tools and Technologies: Gain proficiency in the use of security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, and other cybersecurity technologies.

  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of security incidents, vulnerabilities, and remediation efforts, ensuring compliance with audit and reporting requirements.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, to identify security needs, assess risks, and provide recommendations for secure technology solutions.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • An active DoD Secret clearance.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.

  • Cyber Security engineering and Detailed knowledge of eMASS 7 + years

  • RMF 5-7 years.

  • ACAS 5 years.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Willingness to stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies.

Pay Range : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$75,200 - 158,100 USD
