Job Duties and Qualifications
LEAD MATERIAL HANDLER
JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Reports to and receives assignments, instructions, and direction from the Repair & Maintenance Supervisor or Manager
• May provide some Material Handler Foreman responsibilities on smaller projects.
• Reads and interprets instructions and procedures.
• Ensure all outbound international shipments are completed on time and keep Tracker up-to-date
• Coordinates paperwork for all international shipments (shipping labels, D/G labels etc)
• Coordinates movement of equipment to local suppliers (machine shop) for repair
• Maintains inventory of equipment stored in the yard
• Oversees supply and certification of lifting equipment (slings, racks etc)
• Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site in support of construction and maintenance activities.
• May move materials manually or using handtruck, electric dolly, conveyor, or hand-operated crane or hoist.
• Provides leadership, instruction, and guidance to lower level craftsmen and may reassign work delegated from supervisor.
• Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities.
• Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
• Performs other duties and activities as directed.
