Aircraft Mechanic - Contract

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Aircraft Mechanic to join our team on a long-term contract basis. The primary focus will be on a Q400 conversion to aerial firefighting, including heavy maintenance checks, basic mechanical work, engine checks, wheel changes, structural inspections, and overall repairs. Although the majority of work will be on the Q400, you must be willing to work in other divisions and facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform heavy maintenance checks on aircraft.

• Conduct engine checks, wheel changes, and structural inspections.

• Handle overall repairs and troubleshooting of aircraft.

• Work on Q400 conversion to aerial firefighting.

• Collaborate with team members and lead hands to ensure aircraft functionality.

Requirements

• M2 OR M1 license.

• 2+ years of experience in heavy maintenance.

Work Environment

The team consists of 1 lead hand, 4 mechanics, 4-5 contractors, 7-8 avionics technicians, and 25 structures technicians working together. Shifts are primarily Monday to Friday, with 10-hour days from 6 AM to 4:15 PM, and occasional overtime on Saturdays. Flexibility for 8-hour shifts from 7 AM to 3:30 PM is also available. Basic tooling is required. A per diem, lodging allowance, and flight reimbursement for one round trip are provided.
