Prysmian Group Abbeville Senior Facilities Engineer in Abbeville, South Carolina

Senior facilities engineer will support maintenance in continuous improvement objectives focusing on reducing machine downtime. Leadership qualities will also be essential as we develop training programs and root cause analysis objectives.

  • Candidate will be an employee of the Abbeville, SC Electrical Cable Manufacturing plant.

  • The person shall provide technical support in the area of Facilities, including electrical, mechanical, and PLC related support.

  • Provide support in the manufacturing of LV, MV, EHV electrical cable with a focus on facilities equipment management: HVAC/Chillers/Air Compressors/Process Water systems/High Purity Gas Delivery systems etc.…

  • Compliant with all requirements in 40 CFR 261-265 concerning hazardous wastes including but not limited to labeling, storage and transportation of hazardous wastes from production areas to Waste Storage Pad

  • Work with the technical staff from multiple departments to resolve daily issues.

  • Generate and deploy equipment reliability projects.

  • Ensure all product meets requirements as defined by the Plant’s Quality Management Systems

  • Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines.

  • Other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager or other member of management.

Education Required:

  • BS Engineering or equivalent experience

Experience Required:

  • Strong Electrical, PLC and Mechanical background.

  • 3 years of experience as a Maintenance and Facilities Engineer in a manufacturing setting with team-based environment.

  • Understands the use of CMMS systems.

  • Project management experience a plus.

  • Strong database background, comfortable with a variety of software systems, including spreadsheets.

  • Proven ability to work in a team setting.

  • Must complete OJT for specific job classification, as required, in a timely manner

  • Leadership skills and experience

Preferred:

  • Experience in electrical cable manufacturing a plus

  • Experience with Chiller maintenance and optimization

  • Experience with pollution control equipment (Baghouse, Scrubber etc.…)

  • Experience with Compressor maintenance and optimization

  • Experience with high purity piping and gas delivery systems

  • Experience with fire detection equipment

  • Experience with power distribution systems and UPS systems

Skills/Attributes:

  • Strong data analysis skills

  • A3 problem solving skills

  • Leadership skills and experience (while this role has no direct reports, it is an informal leader)

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Knowledge of Basic Statistical Tools

  • Detail and quality orientated

  • Motivated Team Player

  • Ability to work with little supervision
