About the role:

Purpose/Scope of Role :

The purpose of the Sales Analytics Manager – On-Premise role is to provide support in the development, performance management and tracking against strategic channel plans. This role will drive and heighten monitoring performance against key Key Performance Indicators by leveraging business reporting systems to identify opportunities to deliver volume/value/market share with actionable recommendations and insights for Diageo and our customers, as well as support the On-Premise Commercial Director in the development of the channel plan and strategy. The role reports to the On-Premise Commercial Director but will work closely with the VP, SAOP (Strategic Accounts On-Premise) team, DHP (Diageo Hospitality Partnership) central Diageo team, as well as ancillary support to regional On Premise division teams to deliver the insights and support necessary to drive channel growth. This role will also work with other Sales Analytics Managers and insight owners in the organization to ensure we are driving consistency, standardization and best practice sharing within the On-Premise team.

Key Outputs and Results:

Ownership of Performance Reporting and Business Routines

  • Own the standardized reporting process and delivery across On-Premise to drive consistency and develop insights, including the Monthly On-Premise Scorecard & Summary Email(s) and associated Power BI reports, Monthly SAOP Reporting, and Monthly Agency Reporting (DHP)

  • Maintain account call point universes for SAOP & Agency, as well as support the strategic roadmap for account coverage for the future to align to On Premise strategies across Lifestyle Accounts, Occasion Targeting, and other key pillars

  • Maintain and improve current and/or develop new performance tracking reports, financial and non-financial Key Performance Indicators, including current Power BI suite of reports dedicated to the On Premise channel

  • Identify key drivers of performance (favorable and adverse)

  • Support team to identify opportunities and risk mitigation

Use analysis and insights to identify new business opportunities and present findings and recommendations to key partners

  • Proactively Develop On-Premise insights/opportunities through analytics, uncovering additional volume & market share opportunities. Develop presentations to communicate opportunities to management as well as track progress against these initiatives.

  • Develop tools and insights from internal Depletions data, as well as data from third-party providers such as NABCA, Nielsen CGA, Mintel, Technomic, Overproof, Ground Signal, etc.

  • Provide insight into Spirits Industry On-Premise trends across competitive landscape with data from third party providers to identify category opportunities and competitive position that can inform the On-Premise strategy

  • Accountable for streamlining practices, tools, resources, and communications across the team

  • Assist in developing concise/quality selling stories based on market level analysis and category opportunities

Provide strategic support to the team on ad-hoc projects and initiatives

  • Provide support to the team to ensure they are effectively equipped to focus on driving the business

  • Ad-hoc reporting to support teams as required

  • Ensure that team are on track and delivering against any requests from central teams

  • Closely aligned with customer category, shopper and e-commerce teams to have common viewpoints on key opportunities

Experience / skills required:

Experience Required :

  • College degree, with MBA preferred

  • Minimum 5 years Sales, Sales Support, Sales Analytics, Insights, Category Management, or related experience required, with work in Consumer-Packaged Goods or Beverage Alcohol preferred. Experience working with third party or complex distribution systems is preferred

  • Strong background in managing and analyzing internal and syndicated data, as well as understanding the dynamics of pricing, margin, investment and business plan development

  • Experience in market analysis, competitive data and the application of insights to drive sales performance

  • Ability to produce compelling selling stories from analyzed data and market inputs

  • Must have strong communication skills, be resourceful and proactive. Highly developed selling, influencing and negotiation skills are a must

  • Proven success building relationships to successfully influence and negotiate in complex situations

  • Excel Super User and proficiency in all other MS Office programs

  • Experience with Power BI and PowerPivot

  • Experience with relational tables / databases and SQL queries highly preferred

  • Strong planning and time management skills
