Description:

The Director, Operational Risk and Resilience Management (ORRM) will report to and support the Head of Risk and Resilience Programs. This position is responsible to lead Manulife's Third-Party Operational Risk and Resilience Management program and its underlying components. This includes maintenance and governance of the Third-Party Risk Framework and Standard, which also includes monitoring and reporting of program effectiveness. The position requires leadership skills, technical subject matter expertise in operational and third-party risk, and solid communication and influencing skills. This position will cross multiple businesses, functions, and geographies, to promote awareness and execution of ORRM requirements.

Job Requirements:

  • Update and maintain the Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) Framework and Standard, and establish procedures and guidelines as needed.

  • Develop, maintain partnerships with and provide training and expert support to help business functions and key stakeholders proactively identify, assess, and monitor Third-Party Risk

  • Ensure adherence and compliance to the TPRM Framework and Standard, by partnering with key stakeholders

  • Ensure Third-Party Risk and Operational Risk and Resilience requirements are implemented and monitored on a timely and comprehensive basis, ensuring compliance with regulatory (e.g. OSFI) risk management guidelines and internal risk appetite.

  • Support the development of and monitor the Third-Party key risk indicators (KRIs), setting quantitative and qualitative risk threshold limits and KRI benchmarking

  • Prepare reporting, and escalate issues and report to Senior Management, Governance and Risk Committees, on a timely basis

What We Are Looking For:

  • Broad knowledge of financial services/insurance business and related products

  • In-depth subject matter expertise in Operational Risk and Resilience Management, particularly in Third-Party Risk Management

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in operational risk management or a highly related field such as audit, compliance, etc.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to build effective relationships, both within and across segments, functions and geographies

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to think strategically

  • Self-starter with the ability to work with little guidance

  • University undergraduate degree with a relevant professional designation preferred

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Toronto, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between

$103,050.00 CAD - $185,490.00 CAD
